Black Hole Glaze - Chip Filler?

Hi,

I have numerous small stone chips around the front of my black car. I am hoping to detail it at the weekend including a layer of Black Hole Glaze. My question is, will the glaze provide a temporary filler for the small chips so they don't show up (at the moment they show up white)? Or is there some other product you can recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't count on it filling chips to the point of invisibility. Other than touch up paint, the only other option I can think of might be shoe polish or such. (Really only if you were either desperate or feeling adventurous/experimental. I doubt it would turn out well.)

Hi, I probably shuld've been a bit clearer :) I wouldn't expect it to fill chips per se, but I was wondering if BH would more conceal the white colour revealed by a chip. Anyway, I guess I'll find out at the weekend!

It won't fill color chips .. like Bigleegr said paint is probably what is needed ... there is a product called Dr. Color Chip .. it works as a temporary hide but doesn't really fill in the chip ...

That's awesome, thanks. I'll take a look and see if it's available this side of the pond.

try Motorgeek in the UK for something like that, i can not imagine a lot of people carrying the product as it involves getting paint codes from auto mfgs ... so you get the correct mixture ... I have seen it in action and it gives you a good 5 footer as we would call it ;)

On some of the smaller chips on my bumper you have to get within 12 in to even notice the damage. Dr. Color Chip is great stuff.

Great to have a few recommenddations. As it happens, the husband of a lady in my office fixes scratched, dents etc and he's going to correct some of the light scuffs and touch in the chips for me. I've bookmarked Dr Colour Chip for the future though!

Thanks guys.

I have used Dr. Color Chip with excellent results. I believe it is their variation on the OEM touch up paint. Dr. CC is a totally different formulation and application. I have had permanent almost invisible results filling in "Road Rash". I say almost because if you get on your hands and knees and look really, really, really close you may be able to see the Dr. CC correction spots. (three foot rule) It has worked for me many times on many different vehicles. I'm happy with Dr. CC as a paint correction product.

NOTE: Once DR. CC has cured then follow up the PBBH and LSP and you will be happy with the results.
