Bird Etching Removal with SSR 2.5

Below are before and after shots of a bird sh*t etching on my wifes car.

I could have used something like SSR3 but I didn't want to go that aggressive because it's a commuter car and it will have more imperfections in the future and I want to save as much clear as possible. I also wanted to show that a couple of passes of SSR2.5, with the right pad, can remove deeper imperfections. This combo removed about 95% of the etching.

Method:

SSR 2.5 w/Edge light cut orange pad - speed 6

One pass with the above removed most of the etching but not all

Next - SSR 2.5 w/Edge yellow medium cut pad - speed 6

This remove about 95% of the etching (only can see some pitting very close up)

Follow up with a finishing polish

Here are the before and afters

Nice work Yukon, what pads are your favorite? If I remember correctly you have mentioned Meg's, LC, and now Edge. Any others?

Thanks!

My "work horses" are Meguiars and LC, both work great and hold up well...I still use some LC pads that are 3 years old!

I just started using the Edge pads and still testing them out...but I do like the Edge quick release system so far.
