My son was commissioned as a Naval Officer 2 wks ago. Before leaving for OCS in December he'd asked me if I'd be his 1st salute, to which I immediately agreed. Only problem was that my uniform had "shrunk" considerably in the 5 years since my retirement! However, with the help or Dr Atkins & his wonderful diet, I managed to shed the necessary lbs & don the uniform once again to salute Ensign Cate. Quite an honor, & I'm extremely proud.
