Can we get some sort of dividing line to show up between the posted message and the signature? I have always felt that it helps "frame" the original message better.

try a different skin .. you might like pb5 ... when the new top banner is in place this will be a great skin ..

FAQ .. how do i get to the new skins ?
A ... on the top click settings , then click general settings, then click on skins

or if you scroll to the bottom of the forum you will see a styles box with a list of styles.. its on the bottom left for quick picking..
