now my dilemma  would there be any benefit in going with

Poorboys Polish with Carnauba
black hole
ex sealent
ex sealent again 24hrs later
2 coats of nattys blue
final coat of nattys red

any thoughts or comments ??

The only issue I could see is if you started with PwC - you now have a layer of wax as a base that will wear off faster than your sealants and other waxes on top of that.

If you had some, I would start with some regular PP and mild foam pad. Wait for others with more poorboys product experience, before ya jump the gun though.

sounds like a good plan ... you can alter as you go along if you want to suit your own taste. You do not need to wait 24 hours between coats of EX, but do wait after the second coat before topping with the Natty's :)

Don't forget to send pictures ;)

thanks for the replies, i'll let you know how i get on :p

i'll take a few pics and maybe get some further advice as i think i may be a bit of a wax waster as well :smt102

I too would not start off using PWC.I'd go PP then go with your routine. Remember this! Multiple coats of wax is a good thing.

Very cool, makes perfect sense and yet I did not know it :smt041 I'll be doubling up my layers for future use.

yes mate, its standard factory fitment. it was fitted to the first homolagation cars for downforce so they could be raced with them fitted, later on there was another factory option which was quite rare and called 'delete aero' (which basically meant no spoiler) and then another change was made for the WRC (world rally chamionship) which require less downforce and more mechanical grip (all cars were built four wheel drive)
all early cars came with a slighter larger turbo too just for homolagation and later models were revised with a smaller turbo, although power wise they were all around 220 bhp off the factory line.

mines slighty worked on and is a big turbo model and is running around 350bhp from its four cylinder engine, its not uncommon to go to shows over here and around europe and see cars regularly running 700bhp from the same engine and some top out at over 1000bhp.

there's a large following for the ford escort cosworth around europe because its 20 years old now and has a great pedigree and heritage due to the success its had a thorough bred race/rally/touring car from the early 1990's.

thanks boss, i didn't mean it to sound like a history lesson but they're very much an admired car and still have a strong following.

when they were made in the 90's the early cars were pretty much a race car that was sold through a ford dealer to a man on the street  just so they qualified as a production car for racing.

the rear spoiler was outrageous at the time but the man in the street loved it which is one of the reasons why the 'delete aero' cars are quite rare, everyone wanted the mad spoiler stuck on the back when they bought the car :smt007 :smt038

i need to stop talking now as i'm getting into 'anorak mode'
