It too is not available in the UK, only Europe and it would be left hand drive..... which means high insurance..... and a car "the other half" would find difficult to drive.

There was a rumour that Vauxhall were doing a version in the UK, but the styling wasn't that hot..... unlike the Solstice.

just gather your cash and we'll ship you one :smt003

I had to learn to drive by your silly right hand rules when I was living in Japan...

The only hard part is going back to the other side of the road when I got back to the States. Get a little tired, drive on the wrong side of the road... :smt015

Firstly, I didn't know they had rules in Japan....... hmmmm

Secondly, if they are silly, they are not "my silly rules"
I didn't mean I couldn't drive a left hand drive car, just that the insurance would be expensive and my wife would find it more difficult to drive.

I'm not one for sticking up for the UK as I don't particularly like the place, but I wouldn't say we had silly rules, what do you mean by that ?

We drive a lot in France which is " the wrong side of the road" to us. It's only the roundabouts (don't think they have them in the states) that are difficult to get used to.

I was just kidding about the silly rules, but it does take some getting used to driving on the opposite side of the car as well as the road...

Oh, and we do have a few round-a-bouts here in the states, but the hardest ones that I've ever navigated were in Korea. They think that every one else will follow the rules therefore they don't have to!

you two are toooo much :smt101 I can't even imagine driving on the other side of the car let alone the other side of the road

US postal trucks have right hand drive to deliver mail easier but they seem to crash them quite often ..maybe we are the silly ones

I understand the reason is the cost of re-engineering the Solstice for right-hand drive was too much.

But...we did get the Vauxhall Monaro (rebadged Holden Monaro) and now get the Vauxhall VXR8, which is based on the Holden Commodore VE Clubsport R8 but with GTS interior. Both are sourced directly from Australia and as far as I'm aware, there are no Opel version of the VXR8 for the same reason why the UK is denied the Solstice!.
