Stuborn swirl mark removal

I have a vehicle with very stubborn swirl marks on it. The paint on my car is 18 years old, but the car has never seen snow and is always garaged. I've tried SSR 2.5 on a small section on the hood, but here are still swirl marks visible. Should i start off with SSR3 with a LC medium cut pad or with a heavy cut pad? :?:

SSR 3 is very aggressive. It's sort of a last resort for trashed paint.
Did you use SSR2.5 with a polishing pad, light cut or aggressive pad? Were you using a DA polisher or a rotary? Some marks may be beyond fixing with the DA (unless you were to spend lots of time/product).

as stated above, more info is needed, but it also sounds as if you made one pass at an 18 year old hood. It could take 2,3 or even 10 passes to get rid of all the swirls depending on your pad/ machine selection. Also be careful as the paint of 18 years ago was not the best and may be thin too. Lots of variables here to be taken into account.

I only did one pass with ssr2.5 and a LC medium cut pad. Sorry I'm kinda new to the detailing thing. I used a Porter Cable 7424.

I would suggest a few more passes to start. Concentrate on one panel and figure out how long and how many passes you will need and then repeat to the rest of the vehicle 8)
