S&W on a wet car: safe to use?

I park my car under a parking garage here at work.
The other day, after returning from going out to lunch while it was raining, I was wondering if it's OK to use S&W (which I keep in my car along with some plush MFs) on my wet car.

- The forecast called for an end to the rain before I'd be leaving work at the end of the day to go home, so I was thinking that it would be nice to wipe the car down (while back under the parking garage) using S&W and have a nice clean car for the ride home (and avoid any water spotting).

- My concern is that the rain water on the car might dilute the S&W's polymers' (or whatever it is that makes it safe for the dirt particles to be wiped away without marring) effectiveness and make my car's finish more vulnerable to marring.

Thanks

Basically, that's what would happen. The S+W would be diluted (water based). If the car wasn't dirty before, it may work, but if you have splashes up the side etc. you may be better off waiting for it to dry a bit first.

Another method that isn't mentioned much is to wash the car with a soap and water/bucket method, then use the S+W to clean off the soap residue. This way you don't have to use a hose. You can also use the S+W as a pre-spray before using the soap/mitt to help reduce the chance of marring further. (since you wouldn't have the hose to wet the paint before applying the mitt in this case.)

*Edit*-You would probably have a splashed up car by the time you got home anyway, if the rain had just stopped before you left work, so washing it first would be wasted. It would be better (IMHO) to clean it once you got home and the rain had stopped.

yes you can use it on a wet car but as stated it would be a little diluted .. and yes it probably would be better to do it after you get home as you will be hitting puddles and the kick up of other cars in front of you on the way home .. but it will work if you want to prevent water spotting on the hood, roof and trunk areas :smt006
