Porter Cable Speeds

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question,

Does anybody use their porter cable at speed 6? I find it does a better job polishing, but the pad tends to slip off the backing plate?

Does anyone have this problem or know of a solution.

Hammer,

If you don't have a ton invested in pads, try the Edge system. With the adapter on the PC you can switch between 4" and 6" pads, use both sides and never worry about getting them centered "just right" or the pads "getting loose".

I broke down and bought the adapters for my rotary and the PC and have never regretted it.

I found that my Megs backing plate is weak and the pads slip off. I have another one that grips so tight that I have to be careful removing the pad so I don't tear the pad from the backing.

Thanks guys,

Ya I have to many pads now to switch to a different system. I have a LC backer plate it seems good but as soon as it gets to that high speed things get a little crazy.
