If doing by hand using a foam pad how much pressure needs to be applied?

Depends on the surface. If it's like new, just enough to keep the pad on the paint and spread evenly. If you are trying to remove some oxidation etc., then you might want to use more pressure. (Not saying the car should be rocking, but more than just a tickle.)

Ok got it now, so i guess if my paintwork isnt that bad the PWC is used more as a cleaner and filler?

I know this product description says it's a "non abrasive" polish, but is the PwC still too aggressive for black paint on a BRAND NEW car? I will be applying by hand. I like the one-step aspect of this product, but I want to make sure it's mild enough for my situation. My new paint has some VERY minor spider webbing (or maybe it's just me - not used to a black vehicle). I was debating just using a sealant, but this PwC seems like it might be a better option for me.

You can use the PwC and then top it with EX-P. EX-P looks awesome on a black vehicle. EX-P I normally use a microfiber applicator dampened with water and spread very thin - almost to the point where you cannot see it on the paint.

OK, thanks.

Just one further Q: would PwS have a longer life, but not give as deep a gloss?
