New Black Car

Hey guys,

I just bought a new black focus for my wife, and had a question as to which products to use.

Should I use the professional polish, then exp, then nattys?

Would polish w/ sealant be an alternative for the PP and EXP?

Cheers!

I have a new Black Tahoe and I used PWS and then Natty's blue the next day. I don't know if you need to wait a day in between but since you need to between sealant and waxing I did. Plus I was wore out since I did it by hand. I felt like the Karate Kid after this past weekend!

Have fun

As another alternative, the Natty's Blue and PwC Blue were both made with dark colors in mind. ;)

Cool thanks for the help guys!

Well i've used PP, EXP, and NB on my dark metallic green mustang with amazing results. Although the foucs isn't metallic I think I'll try the same.

I like the long lasting protection from EXP. Then nattys blue should help with that nice wet look.

I've been away from the forum awhile but I've heard using some S&G while drying the car is a good choice, is this correct? I didn't know you could use S&G on a wet car.

Cheers!

Yep. You can use it as a drying aide or to wipe up water streaks.

Well I've got the car prepped for starting the detailing tomorrow. Under the lights I noticed quite a bit of swirls and haze in the finish. I think I'm going to use SSR 2 with LC orange pad, then SSR1 with LC white pad, then PP with LC with pad, then 2 coats EXP, and 2 coats NB.

Does the SSR & PP steps sound adequate?

Thanks!

I think it should be good, as I have a black Escort, and it's fairly soft paint, so, although it marrs easily, it cleans up fairly easily too. I remember one year I used SSR2 and a finishing pad to remove my winter marring and it worked.
-Also, the orange pad will likely leave a haze, so be sure to go over it thoroughly with the polishing steps.
