totally different chemicals designed to breakdown the proteins in bugs and as a side benefit we have found it does breakdown winter road salt , sap, and a few other things..but I would not recommend it as a car wash

Really now? What's the recommended cleaning method and dilution for breaking down salt? This should be the last year I drive my GTO in the winter.

some people use it full strength as a pre-wash, I prefer it 1:1 (50:50) with water. It really depends on how dirty it gets and what condition the finish was in before hand..in your case 1:1 should be enough

Believe me I'll be bitching when it's 105 that it's too hot. Detailing in that weather just isn't fun.
