i picked up the ssr line at detailing weekend. at the dealership i work at they bought this 06 mercury mountaineer at an auction and it was in really bad shape.
when scratches are really bad i prefer wet sanding, rather than compounding the crap out of the clear. i start with 1500 or 2000 depending on the severity of the scratch and then work my way up to 4000
for this job i used....
ssr 2.5 with a yellow meguiars pad on a d/a to remove wetsand marks
ssr 2 with a green edge pad on a rotary
ssr 1 with a blue edge pad on a rotary
black hole with a white edge pad on a rotary
exite imperial paste wax (sorry too poor for nattys lol)
i started the car on a sunny day and left it inside overnight. the next day it was kinda cloudy but hopefully you can still see the fantastic results
SCRATCH ON REAR TAILGATE
SCRATCH UNDER GAS DOOR
SCRATCH ON FRONT FENDER
P1500 by hand
P2000 WITH MY D/A (not for rookies!)
ITS A SNAP-ON NOT A PC!
SSR 2.5 TO GET OUT SANDING MARKS
REAR TAILGATE AFTER
UNDER GAS DOOR AFTER
FRONT FENDER AFTER
FINAL INSPECTIONS
A JOB WELL DONE
