Polishing an old hood

This is a 1999 F150 hood that I bought yesterday to replace the one on my Lightning. It's isn't in the best of shape but with a little touch up, wet sanding and polishing we should have it looking better. This is what I have so far....

Orange with 2.5
White with PP2
White with PP
Black with PP

I'm out of 2.5 so I may have to skip that step when I do the whole thing. Orange pad is just about shot as well.... :smt092

I hear many people start with a simple Harbor Freight rotary and get decent results

either of them would do .. I would shy away a little from the second one with the electronic display ..wonder how long that would last ..

then all you need to do is replace the backing plate with a 6" ..

Yeah that would be nice because then I could just use the same 6.5 pad on both PC and that. Good thinkin' ol boy!

Yeah yeah..... ended up taking hood and truck to the paint guy to paint the roof and he said that he got the hood a whole lot better as well as the front bumper. Saved me a few hundred in extra paint work!! Already done too!! :smt035
