Cleaning up my exhaust tips

So my exhaust tips got destroyed during the winter and were hurting pretty bad :smt010 So I decided to take them off and clean em up for the summer. Of course they are not 100% perfect and I wasn't expecting them to be. The process:

-Poorboy's APC full strength (wet tips than sprayed on and let sit no rubbing)
-Rinse off APC
-APC full strength with agitation from hands
-Clay and APC (didn't get off the baked on stuff I wanted to get off)
-Steel wool (#0000) and APC worked wonders on the baked on stuff cleaned it up without scratching.
-PP via rotary and red VC pad
-Three coats of Wheel Sealant :D

Pics:

Starting out nothing done but taken off the truck

After Clay (notice the spots on the left also on right, they just wouldn't come off with clay had to step it up to the #0000 steel wool)

After steel wool then polished with PP and a red pad via rotary

looks really good. shiny exhaust tips set a vehicle off. I like polishing mine up, too.

Looks good man. I was waiting for the afters. I was just going to dump the exhaust right after the hanger on my Expedition so I never had tips to clean. Haha.

There was never a question of whether the Expy had exhaust work done. As long as it was running you knew.

Haha... I was going to ask what Roush you were rinding in... sounds like just the pipes!! :smt044

All seriousness aside... they look fantastic!! I need to do that with my Flowmaster tips or maybe I should just get some Roush! ;)

Ya know, it never dawned on me before. Why haven't I ever thought to remove the tips to clean them?

You weren't thinking.... neither was I cause I thought the same! Not sure if my Flowmaster come off though... will have to look.

Any idea where I can find some cool ones for the Lightning? Maybe like these?

It's currently all stock. She rips pretty good too! This one might be up for sale before too long. Very fun truck.
