One of my good mates has decided to sell his wife's 99 MX-5/Miata but he was really concerned with the way that the hood looked. He described it as 'pink' so I invited him over so we could use some of my Poorboy's on it.
Here are a couple of befores.
First the pink hood.
Then the boot which I also found worthy of a before pic...
We used SSR2.5 for all of the swirl removal/polishing. I used a light cutting pad on my RO on the hood and only did the one pass. My mate used my spare RO with a polishing pad on the rest of the car. He didn't do a particularly good job anywhere on the car but I managed to get him to do a second pass on the boot.
I then used EX-P with a finishing pad on the car while he applied some Natural Look on the vinyl soft-top.
The whole exercise took just over an hour and this is what we finished up with.
My mate was so impressed that he kept sending me sms messages today thanking me and asking when can he get his BMW and his Porsche done. Apparently the BMW looks a lot worse than the MX-5 did so I may have to do another post soon.
